Montessori Childcare Center
August 1, 2006
Dear Parents:
Welcome to Montessori Childcare! My name is Lorie Latsko and I am the new director for the Montessori Childcare Center. I most recently worked for three years, at the Haslett Child Development Center with 3, 4, and 5 year old children. The fondness I found in working with young children, the respect which I feel for children, and the desire to be involved with the Children's Montessori House atmosphere, are what called me to this position. A brief biography of my work history is also included in the school newsletter.
I am very excited to work with your child and to discover his/her unique personality and needs. This is a wonderful opportunity to create an unprecedented program, which will compliment the Montessori experience, while offering extended care for families who have a need for it. The childcare center environment is prepared to offer a peaceful and happy place for your child, having the following hours:
* Monday-Friday 11:30-3:00 p.m. and/or
Monday-Friday 11:30-5:45 p.m. for primary children
* Fridays 11:30-3:00 p.m. or 11:30- 5:45 p.m. for extended day children
Please make sure that the school office is aware of your child's schedule and please keep us posted of any changes.
The childcare assistant is Kathy Caldwell. Kathy is a long-time parent, former owner of Unique Child, and a licensed, pediatric nurse. We have met several times and are looking forward to getting to know your children.
We would be thrilled to meet you and your child at the center. If you are interested in coming before school starts, Kathy and I will be available August 24th from 4-6 p.m. and August 25th from 10-12 noon. This will allow your child to see the center, as well as to become familiar with where their belongings will go. We will also be available August 29, 30, and 31 from 9-10 a.m. (prior to the new children arriving for the day). If you cannot meet any of these times, and still desire to bring your child to the center, please contact me to arrange something different.
Again, we look forward to meeting you and your children. It will be a fun and successful year. Please feel comfortable to call me with any questions throughout the year, as well as to discuss any situations with me. Providing a safe, caring, and creative environment for your child is my goal.
Enclosed with this welcome letter, please find your Childcare Parent Handbook, as well as a fee sheet for your information, and your child's childcare registration/emergency card. This card is to be filled out and returned,
Sincerely,
Lorie J
