Elementary

Our Elementary Program (1st through 6th grade) builds on the foundation laid during the years in our pre-school classes. The 6 to 12 year old child is moving from the concrete to the abstract. The elementary classroom environment supports this movement toward abstraction and recognizes the importance of each child’s social and emotional development as well as the need for greater and greater independence. This independence is gained through experiencing freedom with responsibility.

Primary

Our pre-school (called Primary) program offers a nurturing and comprehensive educational experience for children 3 through 6 years of age. More than a school, we are a community of teachers and families who are committed to the education and well-being of our children. Our teachers are trained and skilled as sensitive observers, who guide and instruct each child individually through the curriculum. Our classrooms are equipped with beautiful Montessori materials that provide ‘hands-on’, sensory-based learning in language, math, science, geography, art, music, and practical life skills. Each child is viewed as a unique and valued member of our community. In this diverse and caring atmosphere, children develop self-confidence, independence, self-discipline, constructive problem solving skills, inner motivation, and valuable social experiences.
