The Montessori childcare center is our latest addition, located right next door and serving children enrolled in our primary program.  It is an extension of the Montessori environment, offering small and large motor activities, indoor and outdoor play, and snacks and rest time each day.  The Childcare House is open from 11:30 – 5:45 every school day and is staffed by Interim Director Sybil Shelton-Ford and Assistant Marisa Diaz.

Sybil Shelton-Ford is the interim director for the Childcare Center for the 2009/2010 school year.  She graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, earned a Primary Montessori teaching credential from the Adrian Dominican Montessori Teacher Education Institute, and is currently a graduate student at Siena Heights University, working on a M.A in Early Childhood Education.  Sybil has worked as a preschool and first grade teacher, childcare director, teacher educator and yoga studio owner in the Lansing area.  She also teaches Family Yoga classes in East Lansing. All three of her children attended MCH during their primary years.
